    REDCap

REDCap is now installed as a production system on an AAU server and is available to users with AAU credentials via the link: https://redcap.aau.dk.

Login with your AAU username and password, create projects, and make use of REDCap for data acquisition. Data collected in RedCap can be exported to SPSS, Stata, SAS, R and Excel for data analysis. Proper use of the system also means that you comply with the Act on Personally Identifiable Data.

Users who are not employed at AAU may be invited through ITS as an external partner to collect data. This means that it is possible to make multicenter studies using the system. Region Nordjylland has commissioned a similar installation by mid-2016.

OBS! The use of REDCap is according to the license limited to non-commercial research purposes and only to projects/purposes that relates to clinical/health related data.

    HELP TO SELF-HELP

REDcap contains instructions and many videos for self-studies.

    SUPPORT

Samuel Schmidt is super user on the RedCAP setup at AAU. We have also created a Yammer group: "Redcap - AAU" available through the AAU's Office365 installation (all of you have access to) where we can share experiences. If you do not already have an AAU Yammer account, you will need to go through a few extra clicks.

For support with regards to setting up new projects please contact Samuel Schmidt.

Technical support (login, system errors etc) please contact AAU IT Services.

    A BIT MORE ABOUT REDCAP

Redcap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a browser-based, metadata-driven Electronic Data Capture software solution and workflow method to design clinical and translational research databases. It is widely used in academic research: Redcap Consortium is a collaboration / international network of more than 2,000 institutional partners in over 100 countries with more than 400,000 total end users who use the software – with more than 200,000 ongoing studies at this time.

Redcap covers needs for secure data handling and questionnaire management of clinical trials for research projects and thereby meets the goals of AAU’s new research data management strategy. In Denmark REDcap is used for research at AU, KU and SDU, as well as in Region Nordjylland. Furthermore, one of the focal points is to make sure that the installation at AAU meets EU’s data-process requirements.

REDcap software is owned and distributed freely by the consortium under a license agreement, which AAU joined in December 2016.
