    Requisition norms

The requisition norm for teaching is a pool of hours that covers the time spent on planning, implementing and evaluating a module. It is intended that there is a steady load over a period of e.g. 3 years. This means that it may require more effort the first time a module is operated compared to the 3rd time the same module is handled.

Each semester, a pre-requisition is prepared, which is adjusted to an exact requisition in Evita in approx. week 14 for spring semesters and week 45 for autumn semesters. An email will be sent to all VIPs when the requisition is ready for review. After this, there will be a period of 2 weeks in which an objection can be made if the requisition is defective. After the expiry of the 2 week period, the requisition cannot be changed. It is also not possible to make adjustments within the 2 weeks that are less than 10 hours per activity.

    Staffing process

    THE STAFFING PROCESS AT SUND

The department ensures the research base and knowledge base of the study programmes by implementing the following principles through staff planning for each semester.

The staffing process at SUND is based on the principles for research base and knowledge base.

The staffing process is described as follows:

    1. In the requisition system/RES, requisitions are created for the individual programme. This shows how many hours teachers from the department are needed and for which activities. The requisitions are created per semester per module. The sum of the requisitions must match the number of hours that the programmes have received for the semester in question.

    2. The vice head of department contacts the head of studies and the study board via the chairman of the study board with suggestions for semester coordinators for the semesters of the individual programmes. Proposals are based on last year's semester coordinators, but with regard to staff changes, upcoming leave (e.g. maternity leave), free purchase and semester evaluations from previous semesters as well as the semester coordinator's research profile. The aim is that the semester coordinator has other course activities such as course module and/or project module in the semester in question. In the fall, when the process for staffing the spring semesters begins, the latest semester coordinator evaluation reports or semester evaluations have not yet been processed. Poor evaluation results do not necessarily mean that the semester coordinator is relieved of the task, but that work is being done on continuing education and dialogue. Study boards are involved early to ensure that ongoing feedback from students to study boards about specific semesters is not overlooked.

    3. The vice head of department will then contact the agreed semester coordinators in relation to the preparation of a proposal for staffing the specific semester. The proposal contains the specific proposal for module managers and possible teachers as well as a supervisor squad.

    4. In the preparation of the staffing draft, the semester coordinators contact specific VIPs who are intended to be module responsible. The module manager is then tasked with manning the individual module.

    5. The staffing draft is handed over to the vice head of department and is the starting point for a meeting of the staffing committee, where any challenges that have not been solved in the staffing planning are discussed and solutions are decided for the coming semester so that the final semester staffing can be approved. The vice head of department subsequently deals with any outstanding issues in relation to staffing etc.

    6. The staffing process, discussions and solutions are documented in the minutes of the staffing meetings.
